Democrat: Mayor Missing from Atlantic City
Atlantic City Mayor, Robert Levy disappeared shortly after he was investigated for lying about being a Green Beret. Taking our vote for Bad Democrat of the week, Mr. Levy has done this before, apparently unable to keep his stories straight and tell the truth.
Accordingly Superior Court Assignment Judge Valerie Armstrong was trying Tuesday to schedule a hearing with Levy’s lawyer and Councilman Bruce Ward to discuss Ward’s request to declare that Levy had abandoned his office. Ward has called Levy’s disappearance “a national embarrassment.”
The city Tuesday released a letter dated Sept. 28 from Jacobs to the city’s administrator saying the mayor expected to be “convalescing at home” shortly after being released from a hospital.
City officials last heard from Mayor Robert Levy on Sept. 26, when he called in sick, climbed into his city owned vehicle and vanished.
What is the illness, people are wondering. Could he have had a stress attack after realizing that he was going to lose his mayoral seat due to fabricating his background.

Police Brutality - University of Florida Taser Kids in school
I was absolutely floored when I saw the video of the kid in University at the Kerry discussion that was tasered after he asked a question, albeit that his question was long winded. After his question, but before the reply from Kerry, he was man-handled to leave the podium and resisted. I believe he resisted out of shock that there would be any consequences for his remarks, and rightfully so. Frankly if I had asked the question and was waiting for a reply, I would be shocked too that the police suddenly grabbed my arms to move me around. Would I be entitled to listen to the reply from Kerry?
Many of the students in the audience cheered when the man, apparently on polar opposites of the issues as they see it - perhaps a bit out there, was being removed… but did they really expect that he would be forced into submission via taser?
One cop even pulled out a gun and held it pointed at this kid.
That’s a bit too far and representative of police brutality really.
When people say they want peace, it stars with things like this, tolerance for other concepts, for other points of view. Intolerance for this breeds into everything else and we have things like unhappy people, suicide, school rampages and war. I’m all for non-violence and tolerance.
So why would the other kids at this school think that it was fine to cheer it on, laugh at this situation and ignore his plight. I find that to be so dismaying that only one or two people even felt this was appropriate somehow. That people sat by idly and said and did nothing. I heard a couple of people say “let him go” and for those people I say hurrah! My faith in people is restored that someone saw the disgust of this and objected. But other than those and a girl screaming in the background it seemed like so many of them sat idly and did nothing. Not an appeal to the cops to slow down. I’m dismayed about what kind of people we are going to end up with at the end of the day. It didn’t even appear that Kerry himself did much to stop this. Raising your hand one time and doing nothing is not demonstrative of peace, or justice or of the American way.
Come on people! Raise the bar here and stand for something that means more than just a hand gesture.
