A while back there was a scuffle over a site called adamsblock.com that put up a 24 / 7 vid cam to watch a section of the city where I guess Adam lived. http://www.justin.tv/adamsblock. You can read a full story about this here. Well after a while of the video cam, someone found out who was doing the cams and wanted to take it over and/or stop it, so they basically threatened Adam and since he had posted some real information about himself on his website, well, they found him. And upon finding poor Adam, they made a ruckus like gangstas do so that he would stop the filming.

This turned into a sensation of a new site, called Ourblock.com which says it is about to launch an effort to have cams all over the country showing all kinds of stuff. What a concept. Not much will happen in my neighborhood, I’m awake at 2am on the internet, and the rest of this town is fast asleep. We don’t have cop cars running here all day long, they are out patrolling the main drags for drunk drivers taking back roads, (that’s how main our drags are here).

I can see merit in this concept. I see it now. But I also see that it can be a problem because gangstas don’t like this kind of thing. Not to mention all the camera hogs. I guess bored old ladys can substitute as cops late at night while everyone else is fast asleep. I guess insomniacs will be deputized to help the cause. It’s seems like some form of reality TV. But the truth of this is that normal citizens might be able to take back the streets. Or will they?
