Lack of Dopamine increases chances of obesity

Another study adds to the growing evidence that the brain chemical dopamine is an important element of well being and low levels of it may add to obesity.    Rats with less dopamine were fatter than rats that had the chemical. The new study does not explain whether or not the lack of dopamine is a cause of obesity or whether the obesity is a cause of low dopamine, but either way, stop eating and the dopamine in the brain will increase. You’ll have to get your reward system in some other way now.

Do you have something to say?
